Outstanding projects in modern facade construction were honoured at this year’s PRIXFORIX awards.
In the «Müllerstrasse 16/20, Zurich» remodelling project, the project team comprising architects Illmer Thies Zurich, facade planners feroplan engineering Zurich and contractor Aepli Metallbau Gossau SG succeeded superbly in combining modern architecture with circular construction. It is nice to see how the theme of circular construction is also supported and promoted by the client Swiss Prime Site Zurich.
The expert jury praised the ecological transformation, the careful use of resources and the successful combination of old and new.
The facade is an example of how architecture can not only be beautiful, but also responsible. It reflects the award winner’s commitment to tackling the challenges of our time and finding solutions that are both aesthetically and ecologically sound.
Urban mining is the trend! The city and its materials as a circulating resource.
With this in mind, we are proud to be part of the winning team and would like to thank them for this award. We hope to have provided an important impulse for the future. May this project serve as an example for many others that shape urban space with creativity and responsibility.
The time is ripe for climate-neutral – or even CO2-negative – construction projects.
